Andrew Dempsey is a Project Manager at the Harrington Discovery Institute, where he is part of the Therapeutics Development Center. In this role, Andrew manages drug discovery projects for Harrington Scholars across a diverse set of disease areas.
Before joining the Harrington Discovery Institute in January of 2024, Andrew was a Project Manager at Newry Corp, a product strategy consulting firm in Lakewood, OH. At Newry, he led project teams to develop R&D strategies and identify business opportunities for Fortune 500 clients in industries ranging from health care and life sciences to industrial manufacturing and sustainability.
Prior to Newry, Andrew served as a Supervisor in Cleveland Clinic’s Clinical Microbiology Lab, where he played a pivotal role in the COVID-19 lab testing response, including the validation of six rapid assays. His focus extended beyond the pandemic response to optimizing lab workflows and processes, enhancing throughput and quality metrics.
Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the Ohio State University and his MBA from Ohio University. He is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
